The village of Nanteau-sur-Lunain, in the heart of the Bocage de Gâtinais, has preserved its Brie regional culture. Ewe-breeding and cereal farming prevail. Though not a torrent, the substantial flow of the River Loing which runs through the village has, over the years, shaped the landscape. Numerous mills, the power stations of bygone days, beckon you to superb walks, with a variety of.viewpoints, offering surprises, and unequalled views across this small valley. Both adventureseeking and gourmet visitors will be delighted. “Tendance Quad” offers the adventurous great excursions along country lanes on these all-terrain vehicles while “ProPulsion” invites you to discover the joys of paragliding. Farms and sheep-farms open to the public will allow food enthusiasts to taste the preserved regional produce.
This mansion was once the property of M. Lesieur, the manufacturer of the oil of the same name.
The building is set in a spacious park entered through a wrought iron gate, flanked on either side by two lodges. Nowadays, it is the site of a” Functional and Professional
Reeducation Centre”.
The hundred year war hampered the building of a village church “for good”.
It was restored several times in the 19th century. It features a 17th century reredo representing the Assumption.
